I am a figurative sculptor from Litchfield, CT. My work focuses primarily on portraiture—both contemporary and historical. In my historical portraits, I enjoy the challenge of breathing life into long-dead figures from our past. Whether my subject is a figure from history or a live model sitting in front of me, my goal is to not only capture a person’s likeness, but their spirit as well.

In addition to my work as a sculptor, I teach history and geography at the high school and university levels. My study of the past informs my work in the sculpture studio by giving me a deeper understanding of the historical figures that I choose to sculpt and the context in which they lived.
